WHO WE ARE
Having acquired Quinta da Lapa in 1989, José Guilherme da Costa is the prominent entrepreneur and the great reformer of Quinta da Lapa.
Sílvia Canas da Costa is an architect, the second of the family’s five children who came to embrace her father’s project in 2011, after a career of 25 years in architecture which includes the planning of Quinta da Lapa Wine Hotel.
Jaime Quendera is the Consulting Winemaker at Quinta da Lapa, he sits as the Portuguese Expert in Enology with the EU since 1995 and belongs to the panel of judges at the “Concours Mondial de Bruxelles” since 2006. Throughout his carrer as a winemaker Jaime has earned over one thousand awards both in Portugal and internationally at the most prestigious wine competitions.
Jorge Ventura is our young and talented resident winemaker and viticulturalist. He was born in Germany and studied Business Management in Portugal. Born within a family of local farmers, he has early on joined his grandfather Ventura in managing the vineyards and producing wine.
Isabel Rodrigues lives at Quinta da Lapa and hosts our guests. She wears many hats within the estate’s hospitality branch.
José Barreto is responsible for Sales and Promotions of our wine portfolio.
José Calé is our Financial Director and the company’s oldest employee, since 1991.
